The Tale of Peter “Mikhailov”

If you saunter down to the river side at Deptford you can see the statue of Peter the Great and his chum. It is well worth a visit. Sayes Court as you can see from the video does not bear any resemblance to the garden John Evelyn built but you can probably blame Peter and his raucous chums for that. If you are after more Peter points of interest you can journey down Deptford High Street and above the Salvation Army shop you will see a plaque to the Tsar. For this was the spot where Peter met various Quakers and attended one of their meetings.
