Christmas Special:

The Canterbury Plum Pudding Riot of 1647

You should go to Canterbury, goes without saying. You can easily imagine riotous people surging down the alleyways of Canterbury. If you are going at Christmas you might catch the smell of chestnuts roasting in the air.

Alas some of the sites you will not be able to see anymore. St George’s Gate, Burgate and Wincheap Gate do not exist anymore but you can get a good idea of a medieval gate in Canterbury by looking at Westgate. You might also like to see where Saint Andrews Church used to be near Lloyds Bank off Mercer Lane.

If you are interested and you want to read more than try any of these.
